This week were attended the WPA's Awards Night & Conference in Coventry. We're pleased to say our St Mary's Catholic Primary School project was a nominee for Treated Project of The Year 2024. The Department for Education project is a primary school in Derby that was re-built due to the original school being destroyed by an arson attack. The new school, designed by architect Hawkins Brown and constructed by Tilbury Douglas is a modular build, involving Western Red Cedar cladding to all elevations. The cedar was specified to be Fire Retardant due to the attack on the former school. The project also is the first biophillic school in the UK. Our FireWright treatment was the clear choice for the project given it's a 100% natural and non-toxic treatment. The awards night was held in Coventry and had a golf event during the day and the awards on the night followed by the annual conference. Unfortunately, we just missed out on winning but its a great achievement to be recognised.
