Frequently Asked Questions

What can you treat?

We have a long list of species with many final applications that we can treat. Rather than list them here, please see our Classification Tables for more information on what we can treat.

We price for our impregnation and kilning service based on m3. We also have our own fleet of HGVs offering collection of your material and delviery for an extra cost.

Unlike most fire retardant timber treatment providers, we offer a full service solution. This means we can collect, treat, dry and deliver your material as a package or you can drop your material off for the treatment service only. You also are provided with a Declaration of Performance and Constancy of Performance with your order. This offers customers full traceability and everything needed for a UKCA/CE mark.

It does not need re-applying. Our service is an impregnation treatment, this means the FireWright treatment is embodied into the cell structure of the timber making the treatment last the lifetime of the timber.

Lead time varies depending on what is being treated. Scaffold boards are not put into the kiln for drying post treatment so they have a faster lead time of 2-3 days. Other materials using our kilning facility will be between 3 and 6 weeks.

Our minimum order is 2.2m3 and we have no upper limit.

Our treatment is a clear, water based liquid treatment leaving little to no effect on the treated material. On rare occasions, there may be slight discolouration due to PH and acid levels in the timber.

Does using FireWright treatment make me compliant?

Yes. Unlike most fire retardant timber treaters, we provide a Declaration of Performance and Constancy of Performance. We provide full traceability on all treated material and provide customers with all the required documentation to meet UKCA/CE mark.

Yes. Unlike coatings, FireWright's treatment process impregnates the material and applies the treatment to the cell structure of the timber.

No. WJ FireWright are the only provider of this treatment in Great Britain. Better yet, we're able to provide delivery and collection with our very own HGV fleet. Our facility is also ideally located to offer minimum orders of 2.2m3.

FireWright's treatment is to Euroclass b,s-1,d0 specification.

Our treatment is a highly effective and non-toxic fire retardant. It is consisting of only purely natural ingredients combined in a patented formula. The treatment effectively prevents oxygen from reaching the treated object – and without oxygen: no fire.

Yes! We're proud of some of the projects we've been involved in across the UK. We're always adding to our case studies and we'd love to add your project on there too. View some of our previous work here -> Case Studies.
